Welcome Home !

December 03, 2011

After 40 days my mom went to Mecca & Madinah for Hajj, she's home! We missed her dearly. I learned how to be a little selfish while no one at home, *woho! Apparently there wasn't so much difference in our daily routine. My sister and I went out to go to work daily, and there wasn't much time at home. There were no wild parties or late night outings. I guess we weren't that daring after all :D

*

We went to Cyberjaya to take my younger bro & sis,
had dinner at Hassan's.

Remembering famous Hassan's Cafe for our night out while studying at Uniten.

*

We've waited for about 2 hours.
I was too excited to go anywhere else.

*

Here they are!
My aunties & uncles, back from Hajj :

She's the third one in the line :D

*

Almost 12 am, still in KLIA.
Getting super tired & exhausted.

My brother and I

*

I'm glad that she's back.
We'll face this world together!
Yeah!

Extra :
I thought I want to buy some chocolates at KLIA, but I didn't! Totally forgotten all about it because I was too excited to see her. But it's okay, perhaps I'll buy more of them at Bandung!

:D

A Painful Dedication.

December 02, 2011

I'm being terribly upset and this post might be a little odd to relate to you.
Here is a dedication from a book lover to those book she loved :

It's a rather painful day.
A momentary realization when I was planning on having a book gift-away for December.

I lost all my books, the whole little library.

Due to some complication that we missed when my mother was doing her Hajj, my library vanished. I can't really explain the whole process of how I lost them. But the main point is, I lost all my books. Hundreds of them. The books that I've been collecting since I was 12? 13?

I've been channeling all my memories, experiences, pain, and stories while I read them. I remember each book's history : where I got it, what happened when I read it, who gave it, what I loved about it. I loved them all. They are my precious items, they kept my stories throughout my life.

I'm terribly upset. Terribly. Up until the point that I had to locked myself in the lab's toilet to cry myself out. How can I ever replace them? I've been sacrificing a lot of other needs to collect them. Through out my years as a student, I make a limitation on food consumption, just so I can buy 1 book each month. I've created a space that I can put all my books in my room. Up until the point that it was a bit too many to count and my mom asked me to make a library at her office. At that time, I had a hard time to decide on whether I should or should not be apart with them. I spent time lingering in the library every time I went there just to be with them because I missed them. I missed them like you would miss someone.

I don't know why, but I do treat them so nicely. Maybe because they kept some part of me in each of them. Maybe because I hardly hold on to other things in life. Maybe because I thought they will always be there, so I was not threatened by the thought of losing them.

But no.
They took it away from me. Took one thing that I care so much about. They took my past, my stories, my memories.

This is too much. Why take my books away from me? I have nothing else that valuable enough to compare with them. I just have my books. In some positive point, maybe someone else will love them as much as I did, maybe they will be appreciated more, maybe it will give benefits to the society in some ways. But I'm too upset to think that way.

I'm not ready to let them go in one shot!
They were mine.

Still crying badly in my heart
:(

Some of them.

Awan.2

My cat Awan, is now 19 weeks old.

My mom just arrived home yesterday after 40 days she's been away for Hajj. We were so excited!

Me : Ma, you won't believe how big Awan is!
Home :
Awan came to greet us at the door. She sniffed and kissed my mom.
*yeay for the recognition & curiosity!

Ma : Awan is soooooooo big! I can't believe Awan is this big! It's like a different cat. Did you guys changed it with different cat?
Later in the morning :

Ma : I still can't believe Awan is this big! He's like a "bapak kucing"!
Me : Ma.. Awan is a she. Awan is a female cat..
Me : ......
Ma : Oh, right! "Mak kucing!"

Hah. Failed. Awan is too good looking to be a female cat :D

Little Things.

December 01, 2011

*

shoe from Cotton On , Mid Valley

*

Mainly I go for durable comfortable shoes. I hardly wear high heels because it's too uncomfortable, not that I do not own one. I don't understand why some people wear it even though those heels are painful. Blistered feet are not easy to handle. Imagine traveling with blistered feet >.<

Lesson in my Life : 1

*

My dad taught me a lesson : do something that can be done yourself, instead of waiting for other people to do it for you.

If you can wash your own dishes, don't wait until someone else wash it for you. Don't leave it in the sink.

If you can wash your clothes, don't send it to the laundry, wash it yourself every time you take your shower *daily clothes.

Fold your own clothes, tidy up your bed right after you wake up, organize things on your desk,  etc.

Somehow, every small acts affect your surrounding. You can change yourself to be better. If you can't handle simple things in life, how can you manage to handle much bigger things?

*

Inspired by :
The fact that my colleagues keep on asking me why I clean up the pantry, the cleaner will come soon, just leave it. Somehow it keeps reminding me of my dad, every time I see our messy pantry. God knows how he reacts if he listened to that statement!

If you don't feel anything when you are surrounded with chaos, well it's not a good sign.

Avoid Flabbiness . Random Gibberish

November 30, 2011

Hello.

I'm going to share with you some tricks to maintain body weight. I'm not aiming for toned up muscle, just to avoid flabbiness. I know I may look skinny and it's a bonus for me to go for toning up session *easier due to lack of fats. And for people who thought I'm all skin and bones, well they are just wrong.

*
This works for small-framed Asian woman.

Do this daily :

100 x star jump
20 x sits ups
10 x push ups
100 x hand grip each hand.

Stretches are really important. You should do this for 15 minutes before starting and after any session. Use basic yoga stretches, it can help you tone up and be more flexible.

Due to my quite small hands, I had to buy hand gripper from Daiso, which only cost RM 5 with spongy handler. I've tried my brother's hand gripper that he bought so expensively from some fancy shop, it does no good - I can't even hold it properly because it is too big. So yes, for small Asian people, just buy it from Daiso. Same function. It got several levels with different colour handler.

And hand gripper can replace stress ball. Instead of squishing stress ball, you can use hand gripper instead.

*

On weekend :

300 x star jump
25 x 2 sits ups
10 x push ups
100 x hand grip each hand

I hardly go out go for a jog these days because I go to work from at 8am and go home at 8pm. On weekends, I usually stayed at home working on personal projects. I can't imagine how low my stamina is, I'll probably going to be puffing badly on 10 mins run.
*still planning on dozing off at weekends. zzz.

Extra :
We have small wrist. We as in my siblings, my father, my aunty, my uncle and such. Although my dad is quite big, muscled and tall, he has a small wrist. It's genetic. It's funny how we analyze and discuss over it. This issue has been discussed several times because I have such a small wrist, as small as small children and my mom loves to make fun of me. It seems easily breakable. Due to this, I can't wear any bracelet or bangle. I customize things instead.

They should really consider making small watches & accessories for people with small wrist.

Cream Puffs & Si Kuning

Cream Puffs!
I love them to the bits.

One day, I should learn how to make them. I read the recipe to make one, it seems easy. But I've never bake anything by myself other than shrink plastic *and that does not counts. I love the cold custard in the crispy choux pastry ball sprinkled with powdery sugar. Definitely going to try it someday!

*
Not mouth watering enough.
This looked like a bun :

Sugary stuffs !

*

Here, after 10 months, I brought "Si Kuning" back home from the lab. Took deep water bath with dynamo tasted water and then sprinkled it with my "Biskut Merry" perfume. "Si Kuning" is my 23rd birthday's gift from my colleague at the lab. Other than being farted to, hugged, and pillowed by the lab's people, it stays next to me most of the time.

My Weekend

November 23, 2011

Will definitely do something totally different this weekend.

**

Weekend Update :

1. Saturday snap shot :

2. Big Bad Wolf Aftermath Sale
Bought 2 books.
Met Emila Yusof and said 'hello' !
Brand new books :

3. Bus ride
Rapid only serves people with Touch & Go card.
Metro is a lousy service bus.

4. Dinner with dad & tokmak
Super full.

5. Eat Tart Nanas - My favorite.
Once, I ate the whole 'balang' on my own.
So I know how bad I can react to something that I like.

6. Go out on weekend night.
 It's been awhile.
:D

End of weekend!
