Af finally compiled the video he took at the previous Etsy Made Local event - read the post here. Thaaaaank you Etsy team and also to Af who has been right at my side in every events + activities I participated since we got married. 

These final months in 2016 had been great, fun, busy and exciting, I joined an event at Public Garden Singapore, with Etsy Made Local and also Rantai 10th year anniversary. I also taught a doodle class to children for school holiday program and almost reach 100 orders in my Etsy this year alone. T^T

This was a great year, thank you guys ♥

Singapore Trip 4 : Video post from Af

Time flies so fast ! 

It has been a month since I went to Singapore for the event at Suntec City with Public Garden. I'm still finding reasons to travel again but it isn't wise to travel during end of the year, the weather is bad, school holidays, people finishing up their leaves balance, plus commitment to renovating my now-destroyed-kitchen make me only focus on one future trip alone - in next February T^T

Here is a video Af compiled from the event. He took a while to animate my logo and his logo when the video starts and ends. Kudos for the magical tiny animation ! I loved it :D

Work Related : Remaining 2016 with events & activities

Reasoning always pushes me into sudden splurging on things; because when I have money - I want to travel, and when I can't travel I want to buy things - just because. Hm. But then, I'm trying to fill my schedule with events and activities that I can do, in hope of making my inner-self understand that sometimes I need to be the adult and be reasonable. Oh well.

This November I'll be joining an event :

• 26th event - JUNKed Makers Market at Prototype Gallery, Wisma Central, Jln Ampang. Near KLCC, in front of now demolished : the Red Bungalow. It's the place where people in the city go to print stuffs. It was the place I went for random lunch when I worked part time between Matic KL and Menara Atlan, or the place we sometimes send things to be urgently printed *even though they were all expensive, my God. Not quite sure the crowd, but rental is super affordable to sell my little stickers for the day.

• 27th event : Etsy Made Local at Battery Acid Club,  Petaling Jaya. It is a 2-days event, but my booth is scheduled for that Sunday (13/11) : more calming day. I've been wanting to join the Etsy Malaysia group - so I'll have more exposure, more chances to go to places because sometimes it is way easier to plan in a group than going to big events alone. But I'm too introverted to believe that I may need other people in my life. But trying matters. I hope I won't be the thorn among the roses and feel out of place.

I'll be fighting with a lot of little demons to open a booth and be among the society, just so I can share stuffs that I made with people whom might probably like it . Hope I can see you guys soon? Or you can always opt for more indirect and expensive way : which is via my Etsy, of course :)

• Also Putrajaya Night Marathon : where I will be trying my first 21km running + walking + zombie-like-dragging-my-feet.

While in this December I'll be joining this :

• School Holiday : Doodle day class at UPM *still not confirmed*

• 28th event : Rantai Art Festival 2016 at IM4U Sentral, Puchong. Two of my previous events with Rantai were a total failure *I didn't even write a post about it because it was so bad*, I think I'm giving this one another shot to see whether they can reborn again or not. Compared to all other events that I'm joining in this 2 months, Rantai is the most expensive. Way expensive, I don't see how the event will help independent market with high rental if there's no crowd at all. But then again, we'll see :)

Event : Post Urbanscapes 2013

Saturday afternoon, Urbanscapes 2013.

I prepared my stuffs the night before, and so on the event's day, I packed my things and had a lunch in Equine Park with my sister before heading to Maeps. I was excited, I remember last year I wanted to open a booth in Urbanscapes imagining all those exciting atmosphere of great music festival mixed with artsy people around me. So when my sister was offered with a sponsored booth, I said to her that "we must go, no matter what! This is 'the' Urbanscapes, it costs a month's salary to open a booth there!".

So we arrived and tried to register at the registration booth but our name wasn't there - this was a minor problem because maybe they had not updated their list, our name was under the sponsored team's, *we only took our tag at 630pm later.

It took us 1/2 hour to walk to the booth area while bringing our stuffs along, and more than 1 hour to find our booth, there was no mark or sign or our names in any of the booths. My sister had to call the person in charge more than 5 times just to get an idea of the location - at last she came and helped us, for that, I am very much thankful. We were drenched in sweat, hot beyond any words, and later I was having a major headache for the whole day.

We were not enjoying the booth experience. 

Many times "let's go home", uttered by both of us but we stayed.

There were many young people enjoying the event, happy carefree faces, hipstery latest fashion and socialites. I am not much of a trend setter or trend follower, and I'm pretty much enjoy watching the fever. The crowd was over-whelming, I never thought we have such a big group of passionate socialites in Malaysia until I went to Urbanscapes. 

"So this is the young people these days", I thought. 

Although I'm reaching the late 20's now and not actually 'that' old to be considered as young people, but well, you'll feel old if you stick around with me - I am really not a 'fun' person. So I'm comfortable seeing the younger generation as a different group of passionate people than myself. The energy is just 'wow', very loud indeed.

I also knew the concert experience was not much of my interest. 

Other than being a boring person, I also enjoy the quietness of nature with less human contact. So being in a huge crowd environment was a bit too much but interesting at the same time. I saw several performance but missed Tegan & Sara's that night because the performance was too late and I need to go to the toilet. Although Aja said that I can try the plastic booth's public toilet, I declined - remembering those Japanese pranks to people in public toilet *this was just a paranoid statement.

But other than that, I had fun exploring the Maeps's area. The view is breath-takingly beautiful. The event was located on the hill side, there were wooden fences over the grass hill, people were having a picnic while enjoying the good windy weather later that afternoon, explosion of huge clouds, and great sunset view. I wish I was not having a major headache so I could try to enjoy the nice hill side view.

All in all, I enjoyed the experience of being in the international music festival, here in Malaysia. Those little difficulties were normal for such a big event, and kudos to the organizer and also Toursim Selangor for sponsoring the event.

This year has been an interesting year, indeed.

PS : Bad rashes came from the event, the news is currently viral on twitter.

Event : Art for Grab Dec 2013

Hello,

I had a lot of fun joining Art for Grabs in October and decided to join them again for this 14 & 15 Dec Art for Grabs ! Wihu ! Same place, same time, great environment, friendly crowds and hopefully more things to share ❤

Event : Arts for Grab & KLAB 2013

I went to Kuala Lumpur Alternative Bookfest (KLab) in Annexe Gallery, Central Market yesterday. I haven't been to the city by public transportation for awhile so I let my brother lead the way - surprisingly I can't remember any of the routes, it was totally on him.

We arrived there around 1pm, finally felt the cold air-cond in the gallery and started to visit every small booths. One that caught my eyes was 'Rumah Ibadat Kita', it's a project by our local youth on mapping the spiritual places in Malaysia. I bought their nice notebook with 'Have a HOLY Day' printed on it and received the map to Brickfields' spiritual journey. In the map, you can choose a hour walk or 2 1/2 hours walk, visiting all the temples, mosques, churches in Brickfield area. I wish they have other copy for Melaka map. 

They wanted to promote religious understanding between different faiths in Malaysia and I think that is a great idea ! +bonus : nice-creative designs too.

After I visited the Arts for Grab area, I went to the independent book publishers lane, and boy that was nice. There was 2 long rows of booths selling books and zines. I've never really followed their evolution religiously, but I know it just started several years ago and it was overwhelming. 

Book designs evolved, it is not as typical as it used to. There's artistic value and concept - far much better. The variations, the people, the supports. 

Bought several books with discount and wished I bought more :

Exhibition : 6 x 6 Art Geng 2013 - 3

Last weekend, we went to MaTiC, Kuala Lumpur again for the closing ceremony. I met several artists : Fai Zakaria & Dzul Afiq , for the first time. Not as many participants came as anticipated, but it was enough to fully make use of the stage for the photography session.

For the event, I brought 7. The Life of Pi, by Yann Martel. I loved the movie so much I had to read the book, even though I am currently reading 6. Beatrice & Virgil by the same author started several days ago. You should watch the movie, HD version, because it was breathtakingly beautiful ! 11 Oscars nominations surely meant something. 

Ps - I secretly went to Rhythm & Hues recruitment session at Uniten last year because my previous lecturer called me to participate. I remember they showed us the exclusive long trailer of the movie because they were the one who had done special effects for the movie. They had done a great-great job :D

I need to summarize more on the movie & book later, when I finish reading the book and re-watch the movie. A great story needs to be repeated so that I can learn !

Event : Pipit

*

It was a busy day. My 4th Pipit day last Saturday held at Annexe Gallery, Central Market. My sister and I rented a space and opened a small booth. I sold stickers and my sister sold phone straps and keychains. 

I've been busy for the past month to be ready for the day. I've been heavily sick and I am still recovering from my sickness. My MBP died on the night I needed to do last minute prints but I stick to plan B- which was bring anything I already have. I kept my cool and tried to forget the meaning of stress & panic. I put aside my worry thoughts, I said to myself "Let's just do the best of tomorrow and we'll think about problems afterwards".

It was a productive day and I had fun.

I met so many people, for that, I thank all of YOU, for your supports. It was over-whelming. I can't thank you enough. My final event for this year is wrapped with good memories. 

I met Pupurin , Oh & Ah's , Evangelione's Handmade , Mike the Pipiteer , Namizam , to name a few. I also met several silent readers from here. It was such a nice moments. I remember meeting this nice little girl, called Mahfuzah - she was so sweet, I feel like hugging her ! I met merahitujambu, a blogger - of course I know you ! Also Qiqien , you've been buying my things, so I remember you too - thanks for the support. I'll check the artwork I promised to send later :) And plus Adora and maybe all other people who stopped by and greeted me, I forgot your names but it was so nice of you to come and talked to me ! T^T I feel loved and appreciated. And my colleagues and friends and my brother ! Can I even thank you enough?

I slept that night with a smile plastered on my face.
